Literature: Great Book Club (Mondays)—see summer book list 3-7 students will read one great book (both fiction and non-fiction) per week and then engage in lively roundtable discussions for two hours each Monday. Independent reading is required and an in-class writing assignment will be assigned. Three sessions (red group, white group, and blue group) will be offered each day based on age and ability.
Enrichment Writing “Boot Camps” (Tues., Wed., & Thurs.) In these small-group (3-7 students) expository writing classes, students will develop their writing, researching, and analytical skills in a comfortable learning environment. Step-by-step guidance through the research and writing process will be provided, as students research, outline, and construct clear, well-reasoned, and well-developed essays based on the Monday “Great Book Club” reading. Each week will be dedicated to a different book and theme. Classes will meet Tues., Wed. and Thurs. for two hours each day. It is recommended, but not required, that students participate in the Great Book Club class for each week of Boot Camp.
Sign up by the class, by the week, for multiple weeks, or for the full summer.
